General information on PLEA2011

The objective of the PLEA 2011 conference is to gather architects, professors and researchers around questions raised by sustainable architecture. How to integrate the contexts and the different scales of its application ranging from the realm of the city to those of materials and components ?

The 30th anniversary of PLEA was an opportunity to compare theory with practice, history and heritage with contemporary architecture, education and current needs, local approaches with global objectives...

Three Forum on questions raised by PLEA members were introduced by outstanding keynote speekers and the conference close with award distribution and a common declaration.

With more than 400 participants, from 50 countries around the world, 116 oral presentations and 127 posters, this 3 days conference was a great success !
